SOP-OM-08 · Trim & Accessories Approval

Scope

Scope: Covers the review, documentation, testing, and approval of trims and accessories used in the style before production proceeds.

Purpose: Ensures all trims and accessories meet applicable customer, quality, safety, and compliance requirements before production.

Owner: DMR owns and coordinates the trim and accessory approval process, including documentation checks, testing requirements, sample approval, and record keeping.

Applies to: Applies to DMR, Quality, Technical, vendors/factories, and customers involved in trim and accessory selection, testing, and approval within Pre-Production.

Process

1. DMR — If a different or new accessory is used in the style, check the relevant documentation in advance to visual approval

   • If the accessory has a valid OEKO-TEX certificate, the certificate must be provided. If no certificate is available, the required chemical tests must be conducted.

2. DMR — Check all trims (auxiliary materials) used on a product and keep the approved samples on the style file and send to customer approval if needed (See GL-OM-05 Product File Management — R2) (See GL-OM-12 Metal Button, Snap & Eyelet Attaching — R1, R3) (See GL-OM-13 Common Quality & Testing Issues — R2)

   • A wide variety of other trims may also be used depending on the product. The most common of these trims are as follows:
     • Zipper
     • Button
     • Snap fastener
     • Filling fibres (wadding)
     • Elastics (waist, cuff/hem, etc.)
     • 3D trims (pom-poms, etc.)
     • Interlining
     • Lining
