SOP-OM-13 · 1st Bulk & Production Sample Approval

Scope

Scope: Covers the end-to-end 1st Bulk & Production Sample Approval process, including first bulk production, cutting and inline inspections, finished goods evaluation, and sealing of the production sample against the approved PPM standard.

Purpose: Ensures the first bulk production represents the approved standard and that any quality issues are identified and resolved before production continues.

Owner: QA / GT owns and coordinates the 1st Bulk & Production Sample Approval process, including inspection, sample evaluation, sealing, and required corrective actions.

Applies to: Applies to SCQC, SpringNE QA, GT, factory production and quality managers, and PMR involved in first bulk production and quality approval activities.

Process

1. Prepare lay plans after PPM approval. The factory prepares cutting lay plans, typically 500–1,500 pieces per plan.

2. Start first bulk at the defined point. Run first bulk after roughly 10% of total production is complete or when the initial cutting batch is sewn.

3. Inspect cutting and inline quality. SCQC and SpringNE QA review cutting, evaluate cut pieces, perform inline checks, and review selected finished goods.

4. Select and seal the production sample. Choose and seal a production sample during the first bulk meeting. (See GL-OM-03 Washed Garments Shade Approval — R5)

   • SCQC checks the sample before SpringNE QA presents it.

5. Hold production when standards fail. Stop production immediately if issues arise; resolve every problem before manufacturing resumes.
