SOP-OM-10 · Fit & Red Seal (RS) Sample Approval

Scope

Scope: Covers the review, approval, and finalisation of Fit and Red Seal (RS) samples as the approved fit and production reference for the style.

Purpose: Ensures fit samples meet customer requirements and that the approved Red Seal sample accurately defines the fit and production standard.

Owner: DMR owns and coordinates the Fit & Red Seal Sample Approval process, including approval tracking and production reference confirmation.

Applies to: Applies to GT, PMR, and relevant vendors/factories involved in Fit and Red Seal sample development and Pre-Production activities within Order Management.

Process

1. GT — Review samples to ensure they meet the customer's fit requirements (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R1)

   • All fit samples must be made from the same batch and the same colour.

2. PMR — If approved, depending on the customer, either send with comments or discuss in an online session

   • Waistband elastics directly affect the fit of the product. For this reason, it is very important that the correct, approved elastic quality is used from the sample approval stage through to final production.

3. PMR — Approved fits become red seal samples; if rejected, the vendor submits a revised sample (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R6)

4. PMR — Send the counter sample, tagged red, to the factory as the production reference
