SOP-OM-11 · Size-Set & Green-Seal (GRS) Sample Approval
Scope
Scope: Covers the Size-Set & Green-Seal (GRS) sample approval process, from grading and size-set preparation through fit, measurement, and sample approval across the required size range.
Purpose: Ensures grading, fit, measurements, and construction are verified and approved before proceeding to production.
Owner: DMR owns and coordinates the Size-Set & Green-Seal (GRS) Sample Approval process, including required grading, review, and approval activities.
Applies to: Applies to GT and relevant vendors/factories involved in Pre-Production and Size-Set & Green-Seal (GRS) approval activities.
Process
-
GT — Once RS is approved, size charts are graded by the customer, SpringNE, or vendor (See GL-OM-01 CP Management — R1)
-
Vendor — Vendors make size set samples to verify grading and fit, which can be approved by any party based on their authority
-
GT — Existing Factories (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R7)
- Personnel responsible for grading within the factories will be assigned.
- These assigned personnel will receive training on grading rules.
- After training, grading will be performed by the factories and approved by SpringNE.
- The SpringNE approval period should not exceed 3 months.
- After 3 months, SpringNE will no longer provide direct approval for grading.
-
GT — New Factories (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R7)
- For newly onboarded manufacturers, grading will be performed by SpringNE for the first 3 months.
- Training will be provided during this period.
- Afterward, grading will be performed by the factory and checked by SpringNE.
- Transfer within a total period of 6 months, full responsibility for grading to the factory.
TU Self Green Seal Approval Process
-
GT — For factory-approved Green Seals, 1 piece of Size 12 and 1 piece of Size 22 are prepared and put on a mannequin, and side-by-side front view photographs are uploaded to the workbook (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R5)
-
GT — Maintain proportional consistency between the Size 12 and Size 22 samples; if a grading change is requested, the rationale must be explained in the workbook and by e-mail
-
GT — Once the Green Seal approval is completed at the factory, send the workbook by e-mail to the relevant SpringNE Technical and Commercial teams (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R5)
-
GT — Approved Green Seal workbooks must include the declaration that bulk production has been started in line with the attached measurement chart and critical comments
-
GT — For Sainsbury's: after Red Seal approval, state in the "AGREED SEALING ROUTE" section of the workbook who will give the Green Seal approval (UK, SpringNE or the factory)
-
GT — Prepare green Seal samples going for customer approval as 3 pieces of Size 12 and 3 pieces of Size 22 and checked at the SpringNE office before dispatch (See GL-OM-03 Washed Garments Shade Approval — R5)
-
GT — Before the samples reach the office, send the workbook containing the Green Seal measurements and comments by e-mail (the sample is not reviewed until the workbook is received) (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R5)
-
GT — After approval, attach a Green Seal label to one Size 12 and one Size 22 sample and return them to the factory
-
GT — Factories carrying out their own Green Seal approval must obtain locked Green Seal labels and attach them to all approved samples
-
GT — Keep approved Green Seal samples for 1 year after approval, and Red Seal samples must be sent as 3 pieces with the approved one returned with a label
-
GT — Additional measurements are added to the "Additional Part" section on the Red Seal page and the size grading for all additional measurements is entered on the Graded Chart page
-
GT — Take care that there are no out-of-tolerance measurements; if there are, they must be clearly documented in the critical comments section
-
MR — Certified suppliers may approve development samples independently; SpringNE reserves the right to periodic audits and spot checks
-
MR — Certification is granted only to suppliers demonstrating full compliance with SpringNE's approval standards
-
GT — If there is any doubt regarding the style, obtain approval from the SpringNE office before Green Seal approval; the samples may be fitted only by a person authorised by SpringNE
-
GT — Write the factory name, the name of the person giving the approval and the approval date on the Green Seal security label
-
GT — Send the completed workbook by e-mail together with the samples (products arriving without a workbook must not be accepted by the warehouse) (See GL-OM-02 Sampling Rules — R5)
